Southern Cross Hospitals Ltd’s Chief Executive, Terry Moore, has been appointed President of the New Zealand Private Surgical Hospitals Association.


The Association represents some 28 private surgical hospitals in New Zealand to provide a framework which supports clinical and business excellence. It also represents private surgical hospitals viewpoints to policymakers and the health sector as a whole.


Mr Moore has an eight year career with the Southern Cross Healthcare group including senior positions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of New Zealand’s largest private and not-for-profit surgical hospital network. He was appointed CEO of Southern Cross Hospitals Ltd in January. His background includes a 10 year period in which he held a variety of influential financial and commercial roles in the public healthcare sector.


He brings extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning and operational management in the private health sector to his role of President of the New Zealand Private Surgical Hospitals Association.


In addition to the new President appointment, Dr Andrew Wong (MercyAscot Hospital Auckland) maintains the position of Vice President and two new members, Trisha Dunn (Gillies Hospital, Auckland) and Andrew Lesperance (Southern Cross Hospital Palmerston North) join Andrew Blair (Wakefield Health Limited), Tony Hunter (St George’s Hospital Inc, Christchurch) and Julie McCarthy (Chelsea Private Hospital, Gisborne) on the executive committee.
