Date change for BNT V8s season finale

The final round of the BNT V8s Championship will run at Pukekohe Park over the weekend of 13 to 15 March 2009 instead of the original dates of 20 to 22 March, series officials have announced.

“The reason for the date change is to avoid clashing with the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar event in Australia, the dates of which have just been confirmed,” says Kerry Cooper, general manager of The MotorSport Company which promotes the popular BNT V8s series.

“We have a number of drivers in our BNT V8s, and other premier motor race championship series like the Porsche GT3 Cup Championship, who also compete in classes running at the Clipsal 500 or the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix meeting the following weekend of 27 to 29 March, so it’s important that our competitors aren’t made to choose between which championship they’ll drive in if the dates conflict.”

The full 2008-09 BNT V8s Championship calendar is therefore:

§ Round 3, Powerbuilt Tools International Raceway (Christchurch), 28-30 November 2008

§ Round 5, Teretonga Park (Invercargill), 16-18 January 2009
§ Round 6, Manfeild Park (Fielding), 27 February - 1 March 2009
