Boil water notice

Consumers on the Eastern Bush-Otahu Flat rural water supply need to boil their water until further notice.

Southland District Council Water and Waste Engineer Tim Bain said that a water sample taken on Tuesday 11th November had tested positive for bacteria in the water on Wednesday 12th November.

“While further testing is carried out, consumers need to take extra precautions with their water use” he said. “Unboiled water in that supply area is currently not fit to drink.”

The boil notice will remain in place until further notice.
