Momite Hosts Free Lunch To Thank Movember Mo Growers!

Today at 12.30pm Mo-mite hosted a free Mo-stie lunch in Britomart Square for all Movember Mo growing men to thank them for taking part in the good cause.

To gather support for Movember, Mo-mite has been trumpeting the return of the classic cheese and Marmite toastie, now known as the ‘Mo-stie’, and served hundreds of healthy follicle-boosting sandwiches at the sit-down celebratory lunch to mark the end of Movember.

“We are so glad to have been a part of Movember this year. It’s always inspiring to see Kiwi blokes rally together for a good cause, and we just wanted to do something as a thank you for taking part and for having fun while they were doing it!,” says Marmite Product Manager Hayley Findlay.

The Rock presenters Rog and Bryce handed out spot prizes and a $500 cash prize for the best Mo, won by Mo grower Dwayne Mair.

Appropriately re-named Mo-mite for the month of Movember, Marmite took on the massive task of re-naming and re-labelling itself in support of the popular fundraising initiative. As one of Movember’s key sponsors for 2008, Sanitarium has donated 15 cents from every jar of Mo-mite purchased to The Movember Foundation.

This year, proceeds from the Movember Foundation will be split between The Cancer Society of New Zealand, for prostate cancer research and support services, and The New Zealand Mental Health Foundation’s ‘Out of The Blue’ campaign to help men experiencing depression.
