Create your own Christmas decorations from your garden

Workshops on creating colourful Christmas decorations from your garden will be held at Tupare and Hollard gardens.

Local floral art groups will be hosting the workshops and giving participants ideas for making Christmas wreaths, table decorations and table displays using materials from their own gardens.

Both workshops are free and families are welcome. All materials will be provided at the workshops.

The New Plymouth Floral Art Club will host the first workshop at Tupare, 487 Mangorei Road on Sunday 7 December. Meet at the Cottage at 10am.

The second workshop at Hollard Gardens will be hosted by the Kapuni Floral Art Club on Sunday 14 December. Meet at the events pavilion at Hollards, 1686 Upper Manaia Road Kaponga at 2pm.

The workshops are the first of a series of workshops and events organized by the Taranaki Regional Council throughout the year at both gardens.

“The workshops and events programme is designed to encourage visitors and community groups to use the gardens,” says the Council’s Regional Gardens Manager, Greg Rine.
