Clive residents are being asked for their thoughts on four short-listed designs for ‘entry statement’ sculptures to greet travellers at the community’s northern and southern entrances.

The artworks are being commissioned as part of a joint initiative between the Hastings District Council and the Clive Community Group. The initiative is partly funded by Council through the Local Area Entry Statements Strategy, with the remainder to be raised by the Clive Community Group through fundraising events and grants.

The chosen design will be located on the northern side of the Clive River Bridge, opposite Farndon Park, and south of the Mill Road intersection.

The designs can be viewed at BP Clive, Clive Four Square and the Clive Community Noticeboard or at www.hastingsdc.govt.nz/projects/entrystatements/.

Residents who want to have their say can fill in a feedback form, available at BP Clive or Clive Four Square. Forms are to be freeposted to Kirsty Oosterkamp at the Hastings District Council to be collated.

The results will then be presented to the Clive Community Group to assist in determining the preferred design.

Feedback should be sent to the Hastings District Council before 19th December 2008.
