Australian Youth Olympic team update

 SNZ has a team attending the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF), and they left for their camp at St Andrews Sydney on Saturday 10th, to train and familiarise themselves with the venue. This youth multi-sport event is a significant part of developing future Olympians and a legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Swimming begins on the 15th and concludes on the 18th, with the team heading home on the 19th January. Their home page can be found here along with the team attending.

In total, 1550 athletes from 27 countries will compete across 17 sports.

Competition Format
Heat & Final sessions. The competition will be conducted in accordance with FINA rules. Heats start at 9am, and finals each night from 6pm, except for the 18th where heats are 8am, and finals from 2pm. Event schedule can be found here
