HAWKE'S BAY

Starting from Monday 2nd February, Hawke’s Bay Regional Council introduces its new-look, urban bus service for people who live and travel in and between Napier and Hastings. It’s simply called goBay.

GoBay starts with a fleet of 14 new, air-conditioned, super-low floor, low emission buses. The new face of public transport is not to be confused with the Hamilton-based firm Go Bus who will operate the service from local depots in Hastings and Napier.

“We’ve taken a lot of time to develop the public transport experience for Napier and Hastings people,” commented Passenger Transport Manager, Carol Gilbertson.

“From this point, our plan is to develop local services to improve transport options within our two cities,” Carol adds.

The service is complemented by goBay branding on each bus and is consistent with a new-look timetable and plastic ‘smart cards’ to be introduced during February.

The introduction of goBay is supported by a print, press and radio advertising campaign with all information available on the Regional Council’s website, go to www.hbrc.govt.nz.
