From brown hair to red, purple and pink hair and from white hair to no hair.

What on earth is going on with Tararua mayor Maureen Reynolds and her deputy David Lea?

Have they taken leave of their senses or has their power gone to their heads?

Well neither - and to suggest that Cr Lea has taken leave of his hair is merely to state the obvious.
It seems that the pair have joined others in the district to raise funds for the leukaemia and blood research foundation, a worthy cause for which they are prepared to make sacrifices – backed up by fundraising.

So how is Mayor Maureen coping with her unaccustomed flamboyance?

“I’m really enjoying it,” she says, adding regretfully that it “will all come to an end after 30 washes.”
