Musicians band together for charity concert with gourmet hangi
Some of the country’s best known musicians descend on Ngaruawahia in early May to entertain at a gourmet hangi in aid of the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre.
Titled A Special Matariki Event, the hangi and concert at Turangawaewae Marae features performances from Dave Dobbyn, Hollie Smith, Whirimako Black, Nesian Mystic and more.
The gourmet hangi is being designed by UK-based food identity Peter Gordon.
Proceeds from ticket sales go to the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre, New Zealand’s only music therapy centre. The Centre provides music therapy for children of school age and younger.
It’s going to be a great event over four hours with excellent acoustic music and wonderful food. The event is being televised by Mori Television.
