SECOND DAY ANALYSIS BY - www.criccorner.blogspot.com

New Zealand dominated India again on the 2nd day of the Second Test Match being played in Napier. Indian Bowlers were helpless in front of the New Zealand Batsmen. Not only India's bowling but India's fielding too looked completely out of sorts.

Overnight Batsmen Ryder and Franklin played fantastically and went on to score 121 for the fifth wicket. Franklin got run out at 52 and after 13.2 overs Ryder also went to the pavilion after scoring his maiden double century in Test Cricket. Ryder got out at 201. Ryder played 328 balls for his 201 with 24 fours and a six. NZ were reduced to 477 for six and McCullum and Vettori were at the centre. It was a great chance for India to comeback in the match and wrap up the NZ Innings quickly. But that was not so, McCullum and Vettori Played superb Cricket and Indian Bowlers had not answer for their superb batting. McCullum and Vettori dominated Indian Bowling before Vettori got clean bowled at the bowling of Ishant Sharma. But India were not still in the match as Vettori and McCullum had taken the NZ Innings to 605 before Vettori Got Out. Vettori chipped in with 55 runs in just 72 balls. McCullum got on to score his Third Ton In Test Cricket. McCullum got out for 115 runs which he scored in just 140 balls with 13 fours. New Zealand Declared their Innings after making well deserved 619 runs at the fall of just 9 wickets. I

It was a great recovery by the New Zealand Middle Order and Lower Order Batsmen. After being reduced to 23/3 and getting on to score 619/9 you need a lot of guts & New Zealand did it. After a Great Show by the NZ Batsmen, It was the turn of the Bowlers to do something. Sehwag And Gambhir started off well & Sehwag was looking in a great touch but once again he could not capitalise on his start. He scored 34 runs in just 25 balls with 5 fours and a six before getting out to Vettori. Viru was caught behind. Then Came in Rahul Dravid. Rahul and Gambhir were playing cautiously and carefully and it looked like India will not lose any more wicket on the second day of the test but Gambhir played a poor shot to get out at the bowling of Jeetan Patel. Gambhir was aught by Daniel Vettori. Ishant Sharma was the next hunt for the Spin Bowlers.
India sent in Ishant Sharma as the night watchman to make sure that no more batsman gets out but Ishant could not help for the cause and got lbw to Vettori. sachin had to come in unfortunately today. Dravid played nicely for his 21 and Sachin still is on 0 off 7 balls. India ate the stumps are at 79/3 off 23 overs. It would be a big day tomorrow for India. India are still behind by huge 540 runs and India are in a trouble but Sachin And Dravid have to build a huge partnership and take India Out of this trouble. This Match Is Likely to be draw or NZ win.
