CHRISTCHURCH

Pulzar FM commences broadcasting 2pm 18th April 2009, the first new commercial radio station on-air covering Christchurch in 18 years.

Founded by two Canterbury entrepreneurs, Pulzar FM began life in 1999 as a low power dance music radio station broadcasting in the inner city of Christchurch. On May 22nd 2008, Pulzar Fm obtained the first frequency auctioned in the Christchurch area since 1991.

All the planning and behind-the-scenes work is complete, and on April 18th at 2pm Pulzar FM will be coming back to the Christchurch airwaves, no longer limited to coverage within the Four Avenues. Pulzar FM will be available to all Christchurch households and many in the greater Canterbury region, defying the global economic crisis and bringing a fresh attitude and an energetic mix of pop, dance and classic tracks.

Pulzar FM’s aim is to appeal to the youthful (or young at heart) 16-35 radio market. Pulzar FM takes its involvement with the community seriously, and will be coordinating with local charities and community organisations to support and promote events in and around the city. The company is Canterbury-owned and operated and proud of the fact. Listeners won’t get North Island-centric programming, or weather reports that you can recognize are wrong just by looking out the window – Pulzar FM is new, innovative, and here to soundtrack your life.

Launching April 18th 2009 at 2pm, on 105.7FM.
