New Councillor Is Roly Ellis

Pongaroa agricultural operator Roly Ellis will now take his place at the Tararua District Council table joining Mayor Maureen Reynolds and seven other Councillors.

Mr Ellis defeated eight other contestants to win the seat vacated by former councillor Judy Swenson.

Mr Ellis’s interests include keeping rates within inflation, promotion of new businesses, support for agriculture and forestry, and support for families and the elderly in Dannevirke.

He aims to be “a practical hard working councillor”.

English-born Mr Ellis emigrated to New Zealand in 1992 and moved to Dannevirke in 1996.
