New Zealand orienteering team for the 2009 World Orienteering Championships

The following New Zealand orienteering team has been selected to contest the 2009 World Orienteering Championships, in Miskolc, Hungary, on August 18-23.

Rita Homes (Hawkes Bay) Sprint, Middle, Long
Tania Robinson (Henderson) Sprint, Middle, Long
Bryn Davies (Palmerston North) Sprint, Long
Greg Flynn (Auckland) Middle
Chris Forne (Christchurch) Sprint, Middle, Long, Relay
Ross Morrison (Hawkes Bay OC) Sprint, Middle, Long, Relay

The World Championships format consists of qualification races for each the Sprint, Middle and Long distances, with the fastest 15 from each heat qualifying for the finals.

The final day of racing is the Relay format for teams of three.  Greg Flynn or Bryn Davies will be selected as the third of the Mens Relay runners at a later date.
