A rest home in Orewa, just north of Auckland, had been without electricity for nearly a week when this story was compiled.
The power cut was the result of a severe storm that had hit the upper North Island of New Zealand, (see clip 'Northland Floods'). This story aired on Prime News on 16 July 2007, the reporter was Marise Hurley.
