Finding a good book to read has become a lot easier now that the Waitaki District Libraries’ catalogue is available online.

People throughout the Waitaki District can now access their library’s catalogue from their computers at home, school and workplace.

“You can go online and see what’s available or place a reserve on something that’s out on issue and renew your books as long as nobody’s waiting for them,” said Waitaki District Libraries Manager, Lorraine Weston-Webb. ”The online catalogue opens the door to a wider and more convenient use of the libraries throughout Waitaki District, and the world.”

“You can search the Library catalogue, and if you choose Login, you can check your library record, renew items and place reserves on books that are out on issue. Your Login name is the number on your Library card, and if you don’t know your password, you can ask library staff either in person or by telephone,” Ms Weston-Webb said.

Ms Weston-Webb said the new service gives people more opportunities to use the Library.

“The online service means people can browse the catalogue whenever it suits them. This will be handy for people who live in rural communities, and those with limited time to visit the Library. Anyone can access the online catalogue from the Waitaki District Council website at waitaki.govt.nz
