Wellington Westpac Rescue Helicopter called to injured person at Castlepoint

The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called this afternoon
the 11 July 09 at approx 3:35pm to a 12yr old male from Pahiatua who had
fallen off a board being towed behind a vehicle at low speed on
Castlepoint Beach
On arrival of the Helicopter the Wellington Free Paramedic quickly
assessed the paitent and spoke with the off duty ambulance officer on
scene.
The Helicopter was able to land on beach beside the vehicle and patient
The Patient was transported to Waiarapa Hospital Emergency Department
with the Wellington Free Paramedic onboard. The Patient is in the
Emergency Department where he is being treated for broken collarbone.
