As a tourism software expert with a passion for the outdoors, Chris Watson will feel right at home in his new job at IBIS Technology based in Queenstown.

The adventure enthusiast and experienced technology professional has accepted a role with the go-ahead company to work on software implementation, business development, customer relationship management and general sales.

IBIS Technology Managing Director Erik Bradshaw considers Chris a perfect fit for IBIS Technology.

“Chris is an enthusiastic person with a can-do attitude and we’re a company that prides itself on our enthusiasm for difficult technology tasks and the ability to make things happen. We also love being based in Queenstown and encourage our staff to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle.”

IBIS Technology offers end-to-end business solutions to the tourism industry through a fully integrated system covering real-time online reservations, point of sale right through to back end accounting and market analysis.

“We have a growing client base, here and overseas and it’s critical now that we have someone of Chris’ calibre to help develop the business.

“Chris’ strong background in software and business development is perfect for what we’re aiming to achieve at IBIS,” he said. “We’re currently in the process of rolling out a sophisticated new version of our software so Chris will help us implement the new system with existing customers. We will also be using his business development skills to help us grow the business.”

“Originally from the United Kingdom, Chris previously worked as Business Development Manager for an online reservation service for tourism operators in Australia. Prior to moving to Australia, Chris worked for high end IT consultancies in London for a number of years.

After several years on the move, Chris recently moved to New Zealand to settle down and make a home.

Chris says “I love the lifestyle in New Zealand and I’m thrilled to be living and working for a fantastic business in Queenstown where the outdoors are so accessible.”
