The Pressure is on with 91 Players Competing in Day 2

QUEENSTOWN

At 12:30pm today the first 46 players competing in Day 2 of the New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown – SKYCITY Alpine Adventure took their seats to play for two and a half hours.

The second group of 4 will play from 3pm until 5:30pm, with the remaining players from the groups coming together to play from 6pm.

Day 2 will play host to the 91 players who have qualified from Day 1. Play is expected to last well into the night with players trying to keep a good stack of chips and survive to get to the final table.

SKYCITY Queenstown satellite winner and local player Matthew Yates with $67,050 in chips is now second in the chip count with Australian Julius Colman leading the chip stack into Day 2 with $114,425 in chips.

Big name players competing in Day 2 include; Emad Tahtouh, Grant Levy, Celina Lin, Tony Hachem, Brooke Howard-Smith and Radio Sports’ D’Arcy Waldegrave.

Total entries for the tournament stand at 134. The total prize pool of $301,500 is up for grabs. The New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown – SKYCITY Alpine Adventure is the largest poker tournament in the South Island this year based on number of players.

On Saturday 25 July 18 players will come back and compete for the prize money. The last man standing will walk away with $87,435 and be crowned winner of the NZPT Queenstown – SKYCITY Alpine Adventure.
