Positive Trends for Cafes and Restaurants

Statistics New Zealand Retail Sales Trend data for the Cafe and Restaurant sector has been positive for three consecutive months.

• + 1.6 % for March
• +  5.6% for April
• + 4.7% for May

It's encouraging but caution is still neccessary. The next release of the Retail Sales trend numbers will include the first winter month which may see some of those gains pulled back.
