Residents at Summerset Retirement Villages across the country have raised over $2,500 for Alzheimers’ Awareness “Cuppa for a Cause” and this money will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Summerset Group Limited.

Summerset residents, staff, friends of Summerset and the general public attended the events, where they collected donations, held raffles, and even helping to ‘shake the bucket’ during street collections.

As a principal sponsor of this very important charitable organisation Summerset was keen to make a big effort with fundraising. “Cuppa for a Cause is a great way to bring people together, increase awareness of Alzheimers, and raise money for a very worthy cause” says Summerset CEO, Norah Barlow.
The Alzheimers New Zealand National Office will be using the money raised by Summerset to provide support and resources to the Member Organisations.

Summerset’s fundamental belief is that all senior people are entitled to respect and a life of dignity and that is why they are proud to be a principal sponsor of Alzheimers New Zealand, whose work makes life better for those who suffer from, and families who are affected by, Alzheimers. Their sponsorship is an endorsement of the efforts of Alzheimers New Zealand, and a further expression of their desire to provide a continuum of care to all who are part of the Summerset family.
