Hallensteins and Prodesign are on the search for New Zealand’s best t-shirt designer.

The winning designer will have their design created into a t-shirt, alongside some of New Zealand’s leading graphic designers and artists, such as Otis Frizzell, Stephen Richardson, Shine, Inhouse and illustrators from bro’Town.

Hallensteins’ 47 stores nationwide will donate $10 from every ProDesign/Hallensteins t-shirt sold to Make-A-Wish New Zealand, with 100% of each dollar going directly towards making wishes come true for children with life threatening illnesses.

Brad Dransfield, General Manager of Hallensteins comments: “This is all about bringing together some of the country’s most notable designers and artists to create a collection of visually striking and highly desirable t-shirts for this summer, with the added bonus of helping wishes come true for seriously ill Kiwi children.”

Contributing, well-known Kiwi artist, Otis Frizzell, comments: “I'm stoked to be part of the Design a Tee campaign for Make-A-Wish. I've done t-shirts before and I love seeing people rocking my designs, but this has the added bonus of earning some cash to make the wishes of some really deserving kids come true.”

All of the contributing designers are being asked to bring the theme of “I wish…” to life, in keeping with the recipient charity of the t-shirt campaign, Make-A-Wish New Zealand.

Mr Dransfield continues: “Having a wish come true is magical for a child, especially a child who is ill. Make-A-Wish is all about making big magic come true for seriously ill children.”

Make-A-Wish has set up a ‘wish pool’, guaranteeing that 100% of the money raised from the sale of each t-shirt will be spent directly on granting wishes.

So, if you wish to see thousands of people in New Zealand wearing your work on their chests, then get cracking. Send your entry to designatee@shinelimited.co.nz before the 15th of September 2009.
