The Napier City Council is seeking advice from the youth of Napier as part of a review of its policy foryoung people.

From now until 30 th October, the Napier City Council will be surveying youth between theages of 10 and 20 years and are asking you to help out and complete one.

Each person who completesthe survey goes into the draw to win an iPod Touch!

Workforce Development has put up their hand to help so students from its Youth Worker’s course will bein the community distributing the survey for young people to fill out. You can also pick up a survey atyour school, at the Taradale or Napier Libraries or fill one out online at www.napieryouth.co.nz.

Napier City Council’s Youth Coordinator, Rebekah Eastwood, says it’s important for youth to have theirsay as their needs are constantly changing and it is vital for services to be in place to provide the rightkind of support.“The current Napier City Council Policy for Young People has been in place for quite some time so it willbe interesting to note the changes in the needs of youth,” Rebekah says.

“Questions in the survey rangefrom ethnicity, family matters, youth events and hobbies, to crime, bullying and alcohol issues. Thesurvey is completely confidential so young people can be totally honest when it comes to telling us whatconcerns them.”
