DANNEVIRKE

UItra fast broadband is now live in Dannevirke with CBD businesses able to connect through Inspire Net.
Getting downloads in a split second is just “Great” said Sharon Wards, Chief Executive Tararua Health Group, and the Dannevirke Community Hospital has been one of the first to go live. Exchanging high content files with lots of data such as x-rays to speed up diagnosis is just one benefit now being seriously considered.

Wherever the ducting comes out of the ground, installed as part of the town centre upgrade, a fibre connection is possible.

Inspire Net managing director, James Watts, is able to supply lit fibre at speeds of 100 Mega bits per second or more. He is also able to supply dark fibre, meaning people can connect at any speed they wish using their own network equipment.

Dannevirke is now one of a few select CBDs in NZ that can connect in this way, but none have such a low cost. This is what the Government is aiming to achieve over the next ten years but a number of businesses in Dannevirke have the opportunity to use it now, ahead of the crowd.

Inspire Net’s sister company, Digital Nation, caused the industry to gasp last year when they announced pricing plans of a $100 per month for 100 megabits per second and hosting websites. They also set minimum rates of access so you knew that service would not get over-loaded with other users.

You may have noticed that generally after 6pm the internet slows down because everyone is sharing it. With Inspire Net fibre, only a maximum of four users can use the same piece of fibre - a 25% committed information rate. This compares to the possible hundreds of connections sharing the Telecom “copper” broadband.

With Inspired Networks already having invested in excess of $1.7 million in the Tararua, they are truly committed to the District, and it’s time to start using what’s now available.

Referring to the laser beams that run through the fibre optics, we are now truly a lit up Danne-Vegas!
And soon wireless services will be available to large sections of Dannevirke, in addition to wireless being provided to increasing numbers of farmers.

Registration of interest in access to the fibre network can be made via the Inspire Net help desk 0800 484 363 or 0800 4 THE NET.
