Freeviewshop is set to launch a new entrant to the New Zealand digital TV market, the Magic TV MTV3600 High Definition Digital Terrestrial PVR. The release is an extra boost to the market that is set to turbo charge free-to-air digital TV and put viewers in control.

Magic TV brings the latest in high-end recording features and ease-of-use to Freeview HD. Magic TV allows viewers to effortlessly pause, record, browse, edit and play. Magic TV brings Dual Tuner integrated recordings and ease-of-use to a new price point.

Magic TV can upscale programming right up to a revolutionary 1080P. The dual tuners can record two channels simultaneously ensuring that viewers never miss their favourite programmes while the huge 500GB storage capacity means that viewers can watch them whenever they want!

Magic TV feature an 8 day electronic programme guide (EPG). By scrolling through the EPG programmes can be scheduled to be recorded to the hard disc which can then be played back at a later time. Unlike the yet to be released Tivo, Magic TV does not rely on a broadband connection – the EPG is received automatically via the broadcast.

The intuitive High Definition user interface gives viewers total control over all the digital High Definition and Standard Definition TV services. Features include Live Pause enabling viewers to pause live TV and catch up at their leisure; Repeat recordings that allow viewers to catch entire series and more. You can add bookmarks to recordings and skip between them, or trim out whole sections of unwanted footage.

Lars from Freeviewshop said “the launch of Magic TV is very exciting, New Zealander’s now have the option to choose an exceptional PVR that is priced very competitively”.

Freeviewshop has been announced a finalist in the Unitec Innovation in Business category of the Waitakere Business Awards 2009. The Award celebrates businesses that demonstrates year on year business growth with a focus in innovation product and design.

Magic TV is set to launch in October at $799 from Freeviewshop.co.nz.
