Diana Gabaldon may be in Dunedin for only half a day, but such is her popularity that organisers have been forced to find a bigger venue for those fans wanting to hear and meet the super-selling author. With just under a month to go, the overwhelming demand to meet the international author has already exceeded the capacity of the Sir Clifford Skeggs Gallery, and the event has now been relocated to the Glenroy Auditorium in the Dunedin Centre.

Almost 200 people have already registered their desire to attend ‘A Conversation with Diana Gabaldon’ on 3 November and it is expected that many more of her followers will be keen to meet the author and get signed copies of her latest book, ‘An Echo in the Bone.’

The event, which is hosted by Dunedin Public Libraries in association with Hachette NZ, is set to be one of the most exciting literary events for our city this year.

Marketing Co-ordinator for Dunedin Public Libraries, Lynette Hartgill, is delighted with the response. “Work is underway to inform those who have already booked of the change of venue. Hachette NZ have been very supportive of Dunedin and the response to Diana Gabaldon’s visit sends a clear message to other publishers that Dunedin enjoys hosting international authors,” she says.

The move to the Glenroy Auditorium will ensure that more people will be able to listen to Diana Gabaldon as she talks about her latest book, as well as getting their copy of the book personally signed.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase, either by cash or credit card on the day, thanks to Whitcoulls.
