November 12-13 brings to Wellington the second e-Engage Your Community
Conference about the internet. Aimed at community, non-profit and voluntary
groups, the conference will help organisations better use the internet in
achieving their online communications' goals. The conference will again be
held at Massey University's Wellington campus.

Speakers at e-Engage Your Community include Colin Jackson, prominent
Wellington ICT consultant and commentator, and Miraz Jordan, leading web
writer and trainer. They will be supported by a range of speakers with a
wealth of knowledge about the web and its use at the community and
grass-roots level.

The conference will be a mix of presentations and case studies, as well as
hands-on workshops- all with the aim of helping and upskilling organisations
in taking their next step on the web.

This year EYC is running for two days in response to requests for more
intensive training. A range of half-day workshops is scheduled for day 2
with a range of topics such as writing for the web, building websites,
managing email newsletters, social media-to mention a few.

e-Engage Your Community is being run by Wellington ICT, the NZ Federation
for Voluntary Welfare Organisations and the NZ Council of Social Services.
