New Zealand’s best known female singer/songwriters will headline the Harvest Hawke’s Bay Wine and Food Festival at Roy’s Hill, Hastings, on January 30th.

Annie Crummer, Sharon O’Neill, Debbie Harwood, Shona Laing, will perform together as “Give it a Girl”, with a full six piece band and introducing new talent Gala Harwood.

Also just confirmed is the hugely popular New Zealand jazz band Nairobi Trio.

“Give it a Girl’ will perform a string of classic hits plus current singles and songwriting from the talented artists.

Harvest Hawke’s Bay Wine and Food Festival organizer Carol-Ann Stubbs said the high calibre of the artists matched the award winning nature of the Hawke’s Bay wines.

“These extremely talented artists have an appreciation for Hawke’s Bay’s fine wines and stunning produce and they are really looking forward to performing at this stunning new venue for Harvest Hawke’s Bay,” Ms Stubbs said.

Harvest Hawke’s Bay has moved to a centralized location for 2010 with more than 40 wineries and food producers showing off their products at Roy’s Hill, in the renowned Gimblett Gravels wine growing region. The new location boasts impressive vineyard views framed by Te Mata Peak and the Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges.

Ms Stubbs suggested people booked early to avoid disappointment.

“These women are truly New Zealand’s music leaders and we know there will be many people looking forward to celebrating their music in such an incredible setting” Ms Stubbs said.

One of the featured artists, Debbie Harwood is helping to bring the Give it a Girl show to Harvest Hawke’s Bay, “I have taken it upon myself to put these talented well known women together so they can perform their songs to the people of New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity and I can’t wait!”

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day at Harvest Hawke’s Bay 2010 with a full line up to be announced in December.
