Results announced for the 2009 Fonterra elections
Returning Officer Warwick Lampp, of electionz.com Ltd, has declared the final results of the 2009 Fonterra Board of Directors’ and Shareholders’ Council elections.
Shareholders voted to re-elect incumbent Directors John Wilson and Colin Armer to the Board. They will be joined by new Director Nicola Shadbolt. Incumbent Director Stuart Nattrass was not re-elected.
For the last 23 years, Nicola Shadbolt has been a partner in a Pohangina Valley farm running 960 cows. An Associate Professor in Farm and Agribusiness Management at Massey University, Nicola has extensive experience in the dairy industry. She has worked with MAF, Wrightsons and Agriculture New Zealand, is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Primary Management and co-authored the textbook ‘Farm Management in New Zealand’.
In the election for a Shareholders’ Councillor in Ward 16 – Rotorua, Greg Mitchell was elected.
In 13 of the 14 Shareholders’ Council wards where elections were due, nominees were elected unopposed. The Councillors in those wards are:

Evan Baigent, Dean Nikora and Greg Mitchell are all new Shareholders’ Councillors. Sarah von Dadelszen who currently represents Ward 26 will represent Ward 18 at the close of the 2009 Annual Meeting.
There was no election for the Directors’ Remuneration Committee as shareholders Murray King and Rodney Wilson were elected unopposed.
