WORK HARD, PLAY HARD and win Time Zone Dollars and a Computer

There’s light at the end of the tunnel for Canterbury’s hard-working students toiling away at their desks at this time of the year…

“Study hard, get good grades and we’ll give you free Timezone dollars, an Honour Roll certificate and the chance each twice a year to win a brand new Apple Laptop” says Matt Searles, marketing and promotions manager of Coin Cascade, owners of Timezone gaming stores.
Searles says the ‘Timezone Roll of Honour’ is an innovative way to reward students for their hard work. and follows on from similar successful programs overseas.

“What better way to celebrate the end of exams than coming to Timezone, blowing off some steam and having a good time?”
Launching in Canterbury over the next few weeks, Searles says Timezone is looking at the Roll of Honour as a long-term programme and hopes to get schools involved in the future.

“So while it’s a good carrot, it may end up being used as a bit of a stick as well!”

As well as a special Honour Roll certificate, Timezone will reward students who achieve Excellent (E) and Merit (M) grades in a minimum of four academic NCEA subjects (or equivalent) with up to 20 Timezone dollars and a twice-yearly chance to win a brand new Mac computer. The winner’s school will also receive a $800 donation and a free Timezone fundraiser that will give them the chance to raise up to $2000 more.
“The better grades you get, the more play-time you get,” says Searles. All E's = $20 on card; all E's & M's = $14 on card; and all M's = $10 on card.
Students need to bring their current report card into their local Timezone as proof, then get ready to play. For more details, go to www.timezonegames.co.nz
Another loyalty scheme being launched is Timezone’s ‘Golden Race’.
“We’re already offering good value to our loyal customers but we wanted to offer them more,” explains Searles.
The Golden Race is a loyalty scheme for VIP, Gold and Platinum card holders, which sees gold points being accumulated (one per every $1 spent) in exchange for Timezone game dollars. “The more you play, the bigger the bonus.”
Customers who spend $50 cumulatively are eligible for a VIP card; $200, a gold card; and $2000, a platinum card.
“Our VIPs get discounts and free games daily,” says Searles. “But ‘The Golden Race’ is the cherry on the top.”
