Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter Transports a Boy from Waikanae after a Motorbike Accident

WAIKANAE

The Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called earlier this
evening the 4th Dec 09 at 6pm to Waikanae.

A 4yr old boy from Waikanae had been riding with his older brother on
their 50cc Motorbike when they had a crash. The bike fell on the little
brother who was sitting in front of the older brother. The bike fell on
the younger brother causing injuries to his lower leg and also his head
and neck.

The Helicopter with a Wellington Free Paramedic on board responded to
Waikanae Park where the patient was being transported by a Wellington
Free Ambulance as at the scene of the accident there was no landing site
for the Helicopter.

The patient and his mother were flown to Wellington Hospital Emergency
Department where the boy is being treated for his injuries

this was my little brother, he has no head or neck injurys but has broken his fibula an tibula but is otherwise doin fine :)
