Wanaka residents are being encouraged to comment on changes being proposed for two key Wanaka streets.

“Proposed improvements to Brownston Street and Ardmore Street were released for public comment just before Christmas last year,” Queenstown Lakes District Council infrastructure strategy manager Denis Mander said.

Options being considered included:

  • the installation of a roundabout at the Ardmore Street / Brownston Street intersection;
  • changes to parking on Brownston Street and on the lakefront;
  • possible changes to the Lakeside Avenue / Ardmore Street intersection;
  • some streetscape improvements on upper Ardmore Street.

“These are important changes to Wanaka’s roading network,” Mr Mander said. “Now is the time to have a say on what’s being proposed.”

Feedback should be sent to the council by February 5, 2010. The proposals could be downloaded from the council website www.qldc.govt.nz or viewed at the Wanaka council office.
