Grand Old lady in Woodville - Corner State Highways 2 and 3

Aged about 90 this Grand Old Lady in Woodville demands attention from every traveler who passes her. Situated on the corner of State Highway 2 and 3 she can't be missed.

Woodville is the meeting place of all traffic travelling to or  from Wellington through the Wairarapa or the Manawatu, and onward to Hawkes Bay.

Many of her peers are getting a new life. The Tin Hut in Tauherenika, Wairarapa, has been beautifully refurbished by well known Hospitality operator Marcus Darley. The old Rutland Hotel in Paihiatua in now a private residence. And an art gallery (ARTMOSPHERE Gallery) now occupies the old pub at the other end of Woodville.

Many things have changed since this grand old lady was built. She is now a little passed her prime and needs a little love.
