Chris Paterson and John Young have been appointed partners of Brookfields Lawyers, which has been among New Zealand’s leading law firms since its founding 154 years ago.

“These promotions affirm the great contributions Chris and John have made to Brookfields and our clients over the years.” said CEO David Graham.

John specialises in resource management, public and liquor law. He is known for advising corporate, public and private clients in environmental and local government legal issues and on infrastructure projects. John joined Brookfields in 2002 as a solicitor, and has firmly established himself as a key component in the delivery of excellent service to the firm's clients.

Chris, a specialist in commercial property, has a wide range of experience, including the sale and purchase of residential and commercial property, leasing, business sales and purchases, joint ventures and different types of ownership structures. He also advises on construction law issues, infrastructure and property development projects and local government contracts.

“All of our partners recognise that satisfying our clients in a responsible and sustainable manner is part of our commitment. Our many lasting relationships are testament to our success in that area. Chris and John are great additions to the partnership team,” said Graham.

Brookfields Lawyers is a full service law firm with particular strengths in environmental, local government, public and property law. The firm also advises corporates and private individuals, representing clients at all levels of courts and tribunals in New Zealand.
