Fans of premium motorcycles will be delighted to see Ducati displaying their array of performance motorcycles at this year’s Speedshow which takes place from 24 to 25 July at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds.

While yet to confirm exactly which models will be on show to the New Zealand public, plans are well underway for NF Importers Pty Ltd, the Australian and New Zealand Ducati importer, to bring the beautiful Italian machines to the show.

Alison Fraser, NF Importers’ group marketing manager, says: “We are very excited to have this opportunity to exhibit at Speedshow and look forward to meeting many Kiwi Ducati fans and owners. Our attendance is, of course, supported and made possible by our New Zealand dealerships: Bayride Motorcycles in Tauranga, Casbolts Motorcycles in Christchurch, Haldane Motorcycles in Auckland, Hamilton Motorcycle Centre, Motomart in Wellington and AB’s Motorcycles in Nelson.”

Fraser says Speedshow visitors are sure to see some true show-stoppers like the recently-released Ducati 1198 superbike derived directly from Ducati’s world championship-winning race bikes.

“We were delighted to see Ducati riders do well in February’s opening round of the 2010 World Superbike Championship season at Phillip Island. The Ducati 1198 made it to the podium four times in the two opening races with Ducati Xerox riders Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga notching up a second and two third places while Carlos Checa, from the private team Althea Racing, scored a win on his 1198,” says Fraser.

“New Zealanders have been Ducati supporters for many years and we’re back to fly the red Ducati flag at Speedshow in 2010. We expect that many will be excited to see us and we’re looking forward to answering questions as well as providing details for fans about purchasing one of these beautiful performance craft.”

Fraser says Ducati last exhibited in New Zealand at Big Boys Toys in 2008.
Speedshow organiser Keith Sharp says he’s equally delighted to welcome Ducati to Speedshow.

“Ducati has dominated world superbike racing, winning more riders’ and more manufacturers’ world championship titles and more individual races than any other manufacturer, so it’s a real pleasure to have their fantastic performance machines at Speedshow,” says Sharp.

With its trademark line-up of world-class performance cars and classic cars and bikes, beautifully-crafted hot rods, Speedshow looks set to offer a fantastic weekend’s entertainment again in 2010.
