Jones Takes Early Lead in Kihikihi HSBC-FEI World Cup Qualifier

Australian rider Megan Jones took a firm lead in the dressage phase of the HSBC-FEI World Cup Event held at Kihikihi in New Zealand. Megan crossed the Tasman to compete at Kihikihi on her top horse Kirby Park Irish Jester and produced a trademark expressive test for a score of 39.4 penalties. New Zealand rider Clarke Johnstone earned second placed after delivering a supple and flowing test to finish the day on a score of 47.0 penalties. Gordon and Alice Montgomery completed the day in third (49.0 penalties), with Matthew Grayling close behind in fourth place on NRM Lowenberg (49.6 penalties). The action shifts tomorrow to the influential cross-country phase where course builder John Nicholson will test the courage and jumping ability of the field.
