Kiwis Claim One Title - International Table Tennis Results from Auckland

New Zealand gained one title out of the four finals at the ITTF New Zealand Junior and Cadet Open table tennis tournament in Auckland with the Junior Boys team of Kevin Wu and Kong Lingnan showing their potential by defeating their Australian counterparts in a tense final 3-1.

The girls team wasn’t so lucky going down to the Australians in the final 1-3. The one win for the home side came in the form of Julie Wu who won in straight games over Australian Kayla Coombs.

In the Cadet Grade Hong Kong was the dominant force winning the boys final over its second team 3-0 and having its B team finish as a beaten finalist to Australia in the girls section.

The individual tournament continues until Friday afternoon at the same venue with the men’s Oceania senior championship teams and individual tournament starting on Monday.
