RNZAF Charter Parade

Members of the public are advised that RNZAF Base Woodbourne is to exercise its right of freedom of the district under the Charter granted to the Base in 1957.  Approximately 100 personnel will march through the streets of Blenheim with drums beating and bayonets fixed on Wednesday, 14 April 2010.

The Parade will be led by Woodbourne Base Band and will commence from Alfred Street, between the intersections of Henry Street and Seymour Street at 12 noon.  The Parade will march to Seymour Square via the following route:

From Alfred Street adjacent to the Court House into Market Street North, right into High Street, left into Queen Street, left into Arthur Street, left into Market Street, left into High Street and right into Seymour Square. Following the ceremony, the parade will march off turning left and halting in Alfred Street outside the Courthouse.

The Parade will halt outside the War Memorial Monument in Seymour Street where a ceremonial inspection and address will take place.  The Parade is scheduled to finish at approximately 12.45pm.

Members of the public are advised that there will be no parking on both sides of Seymour Street (including the bus stop area), from High Street through to Alfred Street.  Also Alfred Street between Henry Street and Seymour Street, on Wednesday 14 April 2010 until 1.00pm.
