Senior US Policy Advisor joins World Scientists at GoTrace 2010

Brent Gattis, senior US policy advisor for trade and agriculture will be joined by leading scientists including Dr. Jurian Hoogewerff of the University of East Anglia to discuss looming issues and solutions for producers and food exporting nations. Likely to speak will be a senior representative of the FAO. “On behalf of the Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department (AGD), I am pleased to advise that we are interested in GoTrace and willing to participate. The final confirmation and the name of the official who will represent the Organization will be communicated closer to the date of the conference and following approval by internal official channels.”, Cristina D'Adamo Office of the Assistant Director-General, Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department of the FAO.

GoTrace will be held on 19-20 July at Te Papa Museum in Wellington. Delegates will examine the issues and requirements of international markets, the development of new technologies, and the applications of these technologies to a wide-range of food and other products. Delegations representing scientists, producer groups, exporters, government agencies and service providers are expected. Case studies involving meat, dairy, wool, horticultural products are among just a few expected. Sponsors include Oritain, GNS Science and the University of Otago.
