COROMANDEL

Only 11 weeks to go until the K2 and Pearl Izumi.

This years race is on Saturday 27th October 2007 and already over 400 entries have been received, which is double what they are at this time last year. For safety and enjoyment reasons we limit the size of each race to 1,000 entries.

The race is attracting more and more overseas riders and just last week one of the top US teams, Priority Health, have entered the elite race and last years Womens K2 and Tour de France winner, Linda Vilumsen, has confirmed that she will be defending her title.

This years K2 (192k) starts and finishes in Thames, the Pearl Izumi K1 (96km) starts in Whitianga and finishes in Thames and the new Quarter K (53km) starts in Coromandel and finishes in Thames. A bus service is available for the Whitianga and Coromandel starts.

We are keen for people to enter early and have a special prize pool for all entries received prior to the 31st August 2007. You will go into the hat to win a CS Polar Heart Rate Monitor (see www.polarheart.co.nz) and 4 Week Kinetic Edge Training Programme (see www.kecycling.com).
