Ex Fonterra's China Head to talk to Southland business

Bob Major head of Fonterra’s operations in China during the 2008 San Lu Milk Scandal is in Invercargill Thursday April 29.

He will be leading a presentation as the main speaker at an open engagement to share his experiences and explain the China trade environment.

Secretary of the Southland Exporters Group Richard Hay said “ Mr. Major is an industry veteran and his insight of the Chinese environment both good and bad, will provide a fascinating peek into this lucrative yet volatile trading partner.

The event ‘Confronting the Dragon’ will also have input presented by Stuart Ferguson, Chair of the New Zealand China Trade Association, Gavin Haworth, head of HSBC Trade and Supply and Tony Browne New Zealand’s Ambassador to China (2004-2009).

“It is a rare opportunity to hear from all these experienced people at one place and one time” Mr. Hay said “ This will be of great interest to those not only interested in direct export but for anyone interested in the China market and its trading environment”
