Climbing the mountain of maternity is tough work – thank goodness the ASG Parent and Child Show Wellington is on its way.

The Show is a two-day event about everything baby where specialists with the latest products and services for under-fives, gather to show parents and parents-to-be what they have to offer.

For the latest in unique baby products, visit the stand of Baby Vintage, a Wellington-based company specialising in designer baby clothing and gifts as well as quality preloved baby and maternity wear, furniture and toys. Their product ranges include Sweet Cheeks merino wear, BabyLegs leg warmers and Pintoy Wooden toys.

Pop Pop Soda Pop! is the perfect place for little stylistas in search of a little street cred. This Wellington-based company is the exclusive New Zealand stockists of the ultra-cool Early Rider bikes and the gorgeous Little Nutty/Nutcase helmets from the US. Pop Pop Soda Pop! also stocks a wide range of designer clothing, shoes and products for newborns up to 7 years.

For mums and dads on-the-go, visit Baby First, importer of the Baby Jogger stroller, popular with Hollywood celebs such as Halle Berry, Tori Spelling and Julia Roberts who have been papped pushing their starlets around in one.

In addition to boutique baby brands, more established names like Only Organic, Huggies, Persil, Bio Oil, BabyLove and Tommee Tippee will be at The ASG Parent and Child Show. This year, BabyLove is the proud sponsor of the parents’ room – designed with tired parents in mind, it features comfy couches, change tables, a microwave for heating bottles and food, and an endless supply of complimentary nappies from BabyLove.

Making a special appearance are SpottyWot and DottyWot, stars of the stunning television series for pre-schoolers, the WotWots, created by Academy Award winning Weta Workshop. SpottyWot and DottyWot will appear twice daily to sing and dance along to their favourite animal songs. Plus a variety of magicians, singers, dancers and other performers will keep you and the littlies entertained throughout the day.

In between shopping, take time to attend the free parenting seminars in the Tommee Tippee Seminar Theatre on diverse topics including nutrition, feeding tips, Plunket support services, breastfeeding, and you won’t want to miss Kathy Fray, author of the popular parenting book, ‘OH BABY’. Kathy will be presenting seminars on a topic close to every parents hearts: ‘Why They Cry – Understanding Baby Body-Language Signs’.
