Westpac Rescue Helicopter transports a Patient from a Car Crash in Southern Wairarapa

The Wellington Based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called this morning at 1230am the 1st June 10 to a Car Crash on the Western Lake Rd in the Southern Wairarapa.

The Helicopter responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic onboard.

The Helicopter was able to land in a paddock next to the accident site.

The patient was a 45yr old male from Featherston, he was one of five occupants in the vehicle when the car left the road hitting a pine tree. The patient suffered a broken leg and possible back injuries.

All of the other occupants of the car were treated at the scene and were being transported to Waiarapa Hospital via Ambulance.

The Patient was flowen to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being treated for his injuries.
