A stunning Aston Martin V8 Vantage 2009 convertible bought for a whopping $300,000 last year, is going under the hammer at Turners Auctions for only $150,000, causing quite a stir with punters looking for luxury at a much lower price.

But the bargain of the day could well be the Audi RS4 Avant Quattro 2007 up for auction with ‘No Reserve’. Valued at $80,000 and with only 30,000km on the clock, you simply can’t beat the attraction of a prestige car selling at ‘No Reserve’ – they go for an absolute steal.

The prestige auction, which gets underway on Saturday 12 June at 12.30pm, features 29 vehicles with an estimated value of more than $2.5 million - the company’s most diverse line up of luxury vehicles for sale under one roof in New Zealand. Sixty five per cent are repossessions, sold on behalf of finance companies.

“The auction list reads like the ‘who’s who’ of luxury motoring. In addition to the Aston there’s two Ferrari’s, three Porsche’s, two Maserati, two Hummer’s, a Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagon and six Audi,” says Graham Roberts from Turners.

“There has been an incredible amount of interest in the cars so far. As we are emerging from the recession, kiwis seem keen to open their wallets for flash cars at cut-price costs,” says Graham.

Ferrari enthusiasts are buzzing about the exotic yellow Ferrari 360 Modena F1 Sports Car 1999, which boasts an entirely new all aluminium space-frame chassis and a tiptronic V8 engine. This car is in impeccable condition and with just 39,000km on the clock, Graham expects it to sell for between $110,000 to $130,000.

“But if you want to be noticed and feel like the king of the road, then the GMC Hummer 2003 is the car for you. It is the ultimate in size, power, presence and towing grunt and a great buy at only $65,000,” says Graham.

Porsche fans are showing a keen interest in the stunning trio on offer which includes a Porsche Cayman 2006, a Porsche 996 Turbo 2002 and a gorgeous Porsche 911 Carrera 2005 expected to sell for anywhere between $55,000 and $85,000.

Graham says the auction is also an Audi lover’s dream with six different models available for sale.

The Prestige Car Auction will be held at Turners Auctions Penrose, Building A, corner of Leonard and Penrose Roads, Penrose, at 12.30pm Saturday, June 12. To view the full list of luxury vehicles visit the online catalogue at www.turners.co.nz
