CANTERBURY

Canterbury Racer Scott Campbell was taking a season off this year to focus on building a brand new Class 4 for the 2011 championship, however that all changed two weeks out from Canterbury's round of the Asset Finance National Championship. A frantic search for sponsors has seen Holdfast and Latimer Hotel confirmed for the event with less than a week to go. The team has been hard at work putting their championship winning Challenger Class offroader back together, and with only a day to go the car is still in pieces. Campbell is confident they will be out racing though and is predicting a good result. His main competition will come from relative newcomer Adam Reid from Oamaru. Despite not racing for eight months Campbell is setting his sights high, aiming for a win in Challenger Class and a top five outright. If he can hold his car together this is very much within his grasp. Campbell has often proved himself capable of such results but is let down by mechanical failures. The Latimer Hotel Challenger is in the best condition it’s been in a long time though and according to Campbell breakdowns are the last thing on his mind and he will simply be focusing on winning races.
