Microsoft New Zealand today announced the appointment of Steve Haddock as Server and Tools Business Group Lead, a role he will begin early July.

Currently based in Singapore working for the Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, Steve will join the Auckland office to lead a team responsible for Microsoft’s server and tools business covering products ranging from servers to virtualisation to cloud computing.

“Working abroad allowed me to extend my capabilities and gain experience in international markets, but as it is said, there is no place like home. Microsoft New Zealand is one of the best performing subsidiaries in the world and I am really looking forward to being part of the team and sharing what I have learnt,” says Haddock.

Paul Muckleston, Director Business, Marketing and Operations Manager for Microsoft New Zealand is delighted to have Steve back on board. “In the five years since Steve left Microsoft New Zealand he has been proving himself in the considerably larger markets of the UK and Microsoft’s Asia Pacific subsidiaries - we’re very pleased to be able to once again reap the benefits of Steve’s knowledge and experience. This, coupled with his endless enthusiasm and exhasutive energy levels will be a boon for the local business. We’re glad he’s back.”

In over 12 years working at Microsoft Steve left New Zealand shores in 2005 to take up a position at the UK subsidiary where he spent three years leading their Transaction Partner business. Here he was responsible for this multi-billion dollar business spanning distributors and resellers across the region.

In 2008 Steve and his family moved to Singapore for a regional role looking after the SMB customer segement and the Transaction Partner business across the Asia Pacific. As the Asia Pacific Small Medium Business and Distribution Director, Steve focused on building the marketing and sales capability of Microsoft’s internal and channel teams.

Prior to joining Microsoft Steve spent four years working in the (then) pioneering field of Internet services and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Auckland.
