Hastings District Council is happy to announce that, after a successful marketing campaign and public tender process, experienced holiday park owner and operator Isobel Creswell has bought the Hastings Top 10 Holiday Park business and has entered into a lease over the land and buildings.

Hastings Mayor Lawrence Yule says Ms Creswell has over 20 years accommodation industry experience.

“She has successfully owned and operated holiday parks, motels and hotels. She is well positioned to take over the operation of the holiday park and make it more successful than it is today,” says Mayor Yule.

Ms Creswell takes over the management of the park on 1 September 2010.

“This model sees Council retains ownership of the land and buildings. Ratepayers will receive an improved and more consistent return from the lease over the long-term and Hastings will still have a Top 10 quality facility,” Mayor Yule says.

“This is yet another result of the drive for improved efficiency and effectiveness in the Council’s operations being undertaken by the Chief Executive at the request of Council and will provide significant savings to ratepayers.”

The decision to lease the operation of the Hastings Top 10 Holiday Park followed a comprehensive review of management options for the holiday park operation. The Lease was extensively marketed by Bayley’s New Zealand wide and also through overseas networks.
