A Short Films programme screening over four evenings and two matinee sessions, an additional programme of longer, high-altitude adventure movies on the final night, live music from Fernando Aragones at all evening shows and a photographic exhibition from award winning photographers Mike Langford and Jackie Ranken make up the 5th annual Adventure Film Festival opening soon in Queenstown..
Adventure Film Festival director Kirsten Nicholl says each of the films have been selected for their celebration of the spirit of adventure and their genuine ‘wow’ factor across multiple genres.
“The Short Films programme offers a truly amazing selection of films that celebrate adventures on snow, land, water and in the air. Most of the films are finalists or winners of major film festival awards and once again, reflect the quality of the content we have managed to source for the festival, now in its 5th year.”
The Long Films programme screens on Monday 16 August and features two spectacular films set in extreme high altitude environments.
“We strongly encourage people to get along to the main Short Films programme and then take in the longer programme on the Monday night.
Stunning landscape photography showcasing amazing vistas by Mike Langford and Jackie Ranken, both multiple award-winning photographers, on display before each show and during intermission, completes the visual feast. To round out the sensory experience there will be live music from Brazilian guitarist/singer Fernando Aragones at each evening session, also pre-show and during intermission. Doors will open 45 mins prior to each evening show.
www.adventurefilmfest.com provides backgrounders and awards information about the films. . Ticket and pricing information is also available on the website. Each show will feature sponsor giveaways and prizes and there will be a cash bar before the show and during intermission.
