A specialist New Zealand bee product being used in on-going international cancer treatment trials has been hailed by a South Korean man as the main factor in his mother’s recovery from pancreatic cancer.

Jae-woo Choi emailed staff at Te Awamutu-based honey health science company Manuka Health New Zealand Ltd thanking them for supplying him with BIO30™ Propolis.

Mr Choi gave his mother daily doses of BIO30™ soon after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A tumor had metastasized to her liver and lymph glands and her family had been told she had three to six months to live.

However, after chemotherapy treatment and a regime which involved large doses of BIO30™, a strict vegetarian diet and multiple supplements, her secondary cancers have now gone and the main tumour has shrunk.

"I don't think propolis is the only reason for her recovery," Jae-woo said in an email to Manuka Health, "but my family and I believe propolis is the main factor."

"Recent examinations show her cancer on liver and lymph is totally gone and the size of the tumour is less than one-fifth what it was originally.

"My mother had three CT scans. The first was when she got the diagnosis, the second after the chemotherapy, and the last one which shows a significant improvement.

"When the doctor saw the last CT scan he was very surprised. He asked about the therapy my mother was having.

"Last May when she got the cancer diagnosis she started taking all the supplements with propolis. Last August she stopped her chemotherapy and only has propolis, a vegetarian diet, exercise and supplements.

"She is totally OK now."

Mr Choi began the propolis treatment after finding information on the Internet about Professor Hiroshi Maruta's international cancer treatment trials using New Zealand BIO30™ Propolis.

Melbourne-based Dr Maruta is a visiting professor at Hamburg University Hospital, the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and La Trobe University in Melbourne. He has specialised in signalling therapy of major cancers and NF (neurofibromatosis) for more than 37 years.

In his recent research professor Hiroshi Maruta discovered New Zealand BIO30™ Propolis contains the highest level of anti-cancer ingredient CAPE (caffeic acid phenethyl ester) found anywhere in the world. His study has also proven that CAPE works best in BIO30™ propolis where it acts synergistically with other valuable compounds that make it effective in suppressing the growth of tumors and provide other health benefits.

Treatment involves patients taking a daily dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight of Bio 30 propolis liquid.
Dr Maruta says Bio30 Propolis has potential to treat up to 70% of human cancers after promising results from an on-going trial involving patients in several countries. He describes Bio 30 propolis as the least expensive and most effective tumour-suppressing therapeutic he has found.
