Battle of the Bands to receive financial support from the Thames Community Board

Council approves $9,480 toward promotion of NZ Corporate Battle of the Bands.
After the success of last years' inaugural NZ Corporate Battle of the Bands in Thames, the Thames Community Board presented a request at Council's full meeting last week for approval to give financial support to the follow-up event this Labour weekend.
Council was informed that the $9,480 (excluding GST) requested, would come from the Thames Urban General Purpose Reserve.
Council endorsed the Thames Community Board's support for the event and councillors commented on the way events like this invigorate the communities and add to positive promotion of the District.
